Paper Abstract:      Intelligent homes represent a potential solution to allow people with intellectual disability (ID) to hope for their own personal living environment. These smart homes are equipped with technological devices aiming to provide specific assistance (prompts) when needed. To contribute in maximizing the effectiveness of such prompts, this article proposes comprehensive guidelines to help smart homes researchers in adapting the form of prompts by considering the specific learning profile of intellectually disabled people.
